Saint Anne
Anna is one of the most common names in Sweden, and perhaps the most famous of all is Saint Anne. Anne is the grandmother of Jesus and the mother of the Virgin Mary.
Saint Anne came to become one of the most popular medieval saints of the 15th century. She is the patron saint both of expectant mothers and of miners. In the collections of the Swedish History Museum, there are many depictions of Anna.
