Pursuit of the Good Life and the Limits of Science

How far can science and technology deliver the good life? What else might human fulfilment require? Fredag 21 april 2023 i Göteborgs Domkyrka, klockan 18.00-20.30.

This panel will examine questions of 'limits' in relation to science, technology and the good life. Influential modern understandings suggest that we move towards the good life by extending control over the natural world through scientific inquiry and technological development, but this ethos has resulted in environmental destruction that leaves flourishing out of reach for many. This panel will ask whether there are limits to the ability of science and technology to deliver the good life, and whether human flourishing requires limits on the pursuit of science and technology.
