The Rombo route

Welcome to the diocese of Västerås!

The Rombo route - You stroll in beautiful, varying countryside across meadows that have been kept open for a thousand years, walk alongside mirror-calm lakes and follow highland valleys.

The Rombo route is the path that Saint Olav wandered. His destination was  Nidaros in Norway. The route begins in the diocese of Västerås in the parish of Köping which lies on the shores of beautiful lake Mälaren. The path then continues through the forests and mill towns of Västmanland to the billowing hills of Dalarna which lead to the highland region of Älvdalen. The path continues through the diocese of Härnösand across the border to Norway. We welcome you to join our pilgrimage.
