Thousands of collecting boxes will be handed in at churches up and down the country. A national collection in aid of Church of Sweden development work will also be taken. This collection has year after year been the very largest in the Church of Sweden. The Lent Campaign is also the largest fund-raising campaign in Sweden; this year the goal is SEK 48 million. The theme for this year's campaign is "The Power of Life". Church of Sweden Aid is involved in both long-term development work and more immediate emergency relief work. On Sunday afternoon, a gigantic telephone link will begin. The preliminary results from all the 2,500 parishes in the Church of Sweden will reach the Central Office at Uppsala. Some time around 7.00pm it should all be finished. The Office at Uppsala can only provide diocesan figures and the total figures. For the results from local parishes, please refer to the parish representatives or to the deanery representatives.
